Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the church?
Please click here to go to our Maps page.

What Should I Wear?
At RRPC you will see a variety of styles of dress, from dresses, jackets-and-ties, and suits to jeans. Please wear what is comfortable for you!

What is there for my children while I am in worship?
On Sunday morning, there is a nursery available for infants to age three. We welcome children of all ages and there is a special time just for them with the pastor during worship. After time with the Pastor, they can go to Sunday School to engage in age-appropriate activities.

What Is Worship Like?
Our worship is what some call blended – musically we draw from contemporary as well as traditional and while we do follow an order of worship, it is flexible so that we can be responsive to the seasons and themes of worship. More here.

Can I receive communion?
All who seek to trust in Jesus Christ are welcome at the Lord’s Table. Your faith tradition doesn’t matter, you are welcome here.

How often is the Lord’s Supper celebrated?
We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper monthly, and on special days, such as Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. Our deacons also extend communion to our homebound members. We observe an open table so that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are welcome to receive.

Is there is a prayer chain?
There is an Intercessory Prayer Chain that meets monthly to update their prayer list and pray for those on it. If you have a need for prayer, their names and contact information are on the prayer list insert in the bulletin; or you may contact the church office. The Chain is always open for new members.  If you would like to be a part of this ministry, email the church office or call 892.6664.

Are there study/social groups?
We have a wide variety of groups- Women’s Bible Study, Men’s Breakfast, Intercessory Prayer Group, Women Who Do Lunch, Youth Group, to name a few & all kinds of folk that gather to learn, share faith and make friends. These groups are open to anyone who would like to come. We also have short term studies and programs that are offered throughout the year.

Are there opportunities to serve the community?
We have volunteers at Storehouse West, the VA, the Colinas del Norte food pantry, a number of local places. The Mission Committee (which meets the first Sunday at 11:15 am) would love to hear new ideas or help you find a way to use your gifts to serve our neighbors.

What happens after worship?
We invite you to stay for a beverage and light refreshments to get better acquainted with us. We have Hospitality Time following each service to stay connected with each other and make new connections.

How can I become a member?
We welcome you to join us in mission and ministry! If after worshiping with us for awhile, you are led to become part of RRPC, contact Pastor Kathy. New member classes are held several times a year. For information specific to our denomination, you may consult the following link: pcusa.org

How do I join the choirs? Just show up! Rehearsals are Thursday evenings — hand bells at 6:25 pm, choir at 7:30 pm.

Is there a newsletter?
Yes, The Witness. You will receive it by email if you sign up (here). If you want a hard copy, they are found on a table in the narthex along with copies of the calendar each month.  Also, check out our online calendar.
